The Inn at Grassroots Hill – A Lakeside Gem in Purcellville, Virginia

Tucked away in the tranquil countryside of Purcellville, Virginia, the Inn at Grassroots Hill is a hidden gem steeped in personal history and surrounded by natural beauty. This picturesque estate offers not only a stunning setting for life’s most cherished celebrations but also a story of love, family, and a dream realized.

Purcellville, located in the heart of Loudoun County, is known for its scenic Blue Ridge Mountain backdrop, charming small-town feel, and rich agricultural heritage. It’s a place where time slows down just enough for you to savor the moment—whether that’s strolling through its historic downtown, sampling wine at one of the many surrounding vineyards, or hiking the Appalachian trails that meander nearby. Despite its peaceful pace, Purcellville is only a short drive from Washington, D.C., making it a convenient escape for city dwellers looking for serenity and space.

The story of the Inn at Grass Roots Hill begins with George and Vicky Tsui, long-time owners of the renowned PEKING GOURMET INN in Falls Church, Virginia—one of the most famous Chinese restaurants in the Metro DC area and a favorite among locals and dignitaries alike. In 2012, the couple welcomed their first and only child, Ann, into the world. In celebration of her birth and out of a deep desire to provide her with an idyllic childhood, they began building a dream home nestled beside a shimmering lake on a piece of farmland they owned in Purcellville. Surrounded by rolling hills and lush greenery, this home was envisioned as a sanctuary—a place where Ann could grow up surrounded by beauty, peace, and the natural rhythms of rural life.

As the years passed and Ann grew older, life became increasingly full with school, activities, and travel between Purcellville and Falls Church. By 2023, George and Vicky made the thoughtful decision to open the doors of their beloved home to the public—not as a residence, but as a destination where others could make their own lifelong memories. They moved to a location closer to both their restaurant and their daughter’s commitments, and thus, the Inn at Grassroots Hill was born.

Today, the Inn stands as an elegant and versatile venue for a wide range of special occasions. Whether you’re planning an intimate wedding ceremony, a festive graduation celebration, a cozy family reunion, or a memorable company holiday party, the Inn offers the perfect backdrop. The property features a serene lake that reflects the sky like a mirror, a spacious gazebo ideal for outdoor gatherings, and a beautifully maintained lawn perfect for tents, dancing, or dining under the stars.

The Inn also boasts ample parking for up to 60 cars, ensuring that guests can arrive and depart with ease. For those who wish to extend their stay, the property includes five distinctive and spacious guest rooms, each thoughtfully designed to provide comfort and style.

Every corner of the Inn at Grassroots Hill reflects the warmth and care of the family who built it. It is more than just a venue—it is a place infused with heart, history, and the quiet charm of the Virginia countryside.

Come celebrate your next chapter at the Inn at Grassroots Hill, where every event becomes a part of a legacy rooted in love, family, and the enduring beauty of Purcellville.
